The two most important factors in minimising life-cycle costs for entrance system hardware are specifying the right components for an application and ensuring proper care and maintenance.
In the past, entrance system hardware maintenance might have been done, when a problem arose, such as a loose hinge or a sticking, slamming or inoperative door. Reactive maintenance will not work today. More and more managers are moving to preventative and predictive maintenance.
All entrance system maintenance should be done on a schedule. Ramsay Holmes Doors gives particular but not exclusive attention to manufacturer recommendations, which represent a minimum requirement. Many more maintenance tasks are required to ensure smooth operation, reliability and low cost, we can adapt any maintenance schedule to reflect the requirements of the customer and the application.
Inspection and maintenance includes checking, cleaning, adjusting and lubricating hardware at proper intervals. Components, tasks and typical frequencies can be adjusted according to experience, manufacturer recommendations, conditions and traffic:
